LOS ANGELES: Twitter posted a net loss of $175.5 million in the third quarter, up from a loss of $64.6 million a year earlier, the social net working service said Monday.
Revenue rose by 114 percent to $316.2 million , according to a company statement.
Despite the loss chief executive Dick Costolo said Twitter "had another very strong financial quarter."
"I'm confident in our ability to build the largest daily audience in the world," he added.
The number of active monthly users increased by 23 percent to 284 million, the statement said.
Twitter shares fell about 10 percent in extended trading following the announcement. (QNA)
