AAB holds Toyota ‘Hybrid Electric Vehicle Experience’ event

Doha: Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. (AAB), the distributor for Toyota vehicles in Qatar, recently organised a 'Hybrid Electric Vehicle Experience' event for journalists and influencers as part of the Qatar Sustainability Week. The attendees were given the opportunity to test-drive the range of the latest models of Toyota Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) which included C-HR, Corolla, Corolla Cross, Camry, RAV4 and the Highlander.

Firas Mufti, Senior Marketing Manager at AAB welcomed the participants, who were also briefed on HEV technology. Awwad Mohamed, Senior Manager for Toyota National Sales, also briefed the attendees on Toyota's HEV line-up, while Rassamunira Ramli, Corporate Communication & CSR Manager at AAB, highlighted the Company’s support for the Qatar Sustainability Week.

The driving experience event started from Al Abdulghani Tower towards Salwa Hilton Resort covering about 100kms. In the Salwa Hilton Resort, each journalist talked about the key points they experienced while driving the hybrid models. Participants noted power and acceleration (two sources of power – gasoline + electric motor), quietness inside the cabin, smooth driving, longer mileage, and the low carbon.

The Toyota Highlander HEV’s 2.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine comes with a combined power of 240 hp, capable of delivering a maximum torque figure of 231 nm. Toyota RAV 4 HEV provides the lowest fuel consumption value of 22.2km/L while delivering a new level of driving pleasure.

The class-leading C-HR HEV reflects Toyota’s long-standing drive for sustainability, with increased driving satisfaction provided by its advanced technologies. The Corolla Cross combines a tough urban-style exterior with a comfortable and convenient interior. The Engine comes with a combined HP of 121 hp.

The hybrid-electric drivetrain on Toyota Camry HEV produces 176 HP and 118 HP and delivers 22.5 kg-m and 20.6 kg-m of torque, respectively. The combined power of the two power sources is 215 hp.

The Corolla HEV offers the lowest fuel consumption value in its category at 27.6km/L. Corolla HEV is equipped with a 4 cylinder, 1.8 litre engine with a combined power of 121 HP.
