Adelaide, Australia: Australia were in deep trouble at 116 for eight in reply to New Zealand's 202 at tea on a dramatic second day of the historic day-night Test in Adelaide on Saturday.

It was all New Zealand in the session as they captured six wickets for 62 to have the Australians on the run in a startling turnaround of fortunes.

Josh Hazlewood was bowled off-stump by debutant left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner for four at tea leaving Peter Nevill unbeaten on 17.

The Kiwis made a huge breakthrough with the prized wicket of skipper Steve Smith for 53 some 20 minutes before tea.
