Doha: Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim held yesterday meeting with a number of parliamentary officials , who are currently visiting Qatar.
The meeting involved Chairman of Libya’s High Council of State H E Khalid Al Mishri, President of Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies H E Arthur Cesar, Deputy Speaker of Jordan’s Council or Representatives H E Haitham Ziyadin, Deputy Speaker of Rwandan Parliament H E Mussa Fazil, Chairman of the Libyan-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Libyan Parliament H E Issa Al Araibi, Chairman of the Jordanian-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Jordanian Council of Representatives H E Madallah Al Tarawneh and Chairman of the Moroccan-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Moroccan Parliament H E Najwa Koukouss.
During the meeting, visiting parliamentarians praised the outstanding organisation of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and Qatar’s advanced infrastructure, stressing that the State of Qatar has proven its ability to organise an exceptional tournament, and succeeded in creating the right atmosphere for this football festival, and achieving its goals in promoting communication and rapprochement between nations.
The meeting also reviewed a host of issues related to parliamentary work and ways to strengthen parliamentary relations.
A number of Their Excellencies members and officials of the Shura Council attended the meeting.
