Weathermen say rains likely in Doha today

DOHA: It drizzled in some places in the country yesterday with forecasters saying there are chances of rain today as well.

Asked specifically if there was a possibility of rain in Doha today, the head of analysis and forecast at the Meteorology Department replied in the affirmative.

“There are some chances of rain today in Doha also,” said Abdullah Al Mannai. He said that it would be mildly pleasant today and tomorrow as temperatures would decrease with the maximum expected to be 23 degrees Celsius in average while the minimum likely at around 16 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorology Department, in its forecast for today said wind would be strong and seas would be high offshore.

The forecast put the wind speed at between five and 15 knots an hour inshore while offshore it was forecast at between 18 and 30 knots an hour. The Peninsula
