PESHAWAR: Like his predecessor, Speaker of the KP Assembly Asad Qaisar is understood to have been keeping more than five official vehicles in violation of the law, which entitles the custodian of the House to use two vehicles only.
Official sources said yesterday that the speaker, who recently quit as the provincial president of ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, had given one car owned by the assembly secretariat to personal friend and the deputy commissioner of Swabi, his home district.
They said the vehicle with registration number Peshawar A-9122 was handed over to the deputy commissioner around four months ago. The sources said recently, the provincial assembly’s speaker recommended to the provincial government to purchase new brand car for the deputy commissioner. The provincial assembly’s speaker denied of violating of the law on use of official vehicles. INTERNEWS
