DOHA: Twenty-four falconers will compete in Hudud Al Tahaddi Challenge’s final round in the Qatar Falcons and Hunting Competition being held in Sabkhat Marmi in Mesaieed.
A total of QR2.4m has been distributed to the finalists who of whom won QR100,000 in this category of the competition.
The 16th and last qualifying round of the challenge ended yesterday without qualifiers with the falcons unable to disrupt the flight of homing pigeons.
Today’s line-up features non-competitive events, including Hudud Al Habari and Hudud Al Saluki and shows in the shooting range in the morning.
Open to all falconers, the Hudud Al Habari rounds feature falcons seeking to catch habari birds, known for speed, while the Huhud Al Saluki rounds are races in which salukis or Arabian greyhounds try to cover a given distance in the shortest time.
