DOHA: Texas A&M at Qatar (TAMUQ) has honoured 15 local high school students for their winning projects during two research competitions — the Secondary School Research Experience Programme and the Fifth Intel Science Competition Arab World 2014.
The winning projects were displayed during the Science and Engineering Showcase on the branch campus’ Link Atrium. “We are proud to feature your winning projects,” said Dr Mark H Weichold, Dean and CEO,  TAMUQ.
“Because of the students’ innovation and perseverance, we saw the award-winning, thought-provoking and inventive projects. The projects illustrate how these concepts are fundamental in engineering the world around us and making it a better place.
“I would like to thank Intel Corporation, the Research and Development Division of QF and the Supreme Education Council for organising the competitions and supporting Qatar’s goal of becoming a knowledge-based economy as does TAMUQ.”
The contests tested the students’ interview and presentation skills as they competed with over 100 counterparts from nine countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The Peninsula
