Workshop on rights hotlines

Doha: Civil Society Organisations such as National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), Qatar Foundation for Social Protection and Rehabilitation (QFSPR), Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and Polaris Foundation will hold a training workshop on hotlines at the NHR headquarters from February 1 to 5.
Officials from NHR, QFSPR, QF, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (Qatar 2022) and the Family Consulting Centre will take part. In a statement, the Director of NHRC’s International Cooperation Department, Sheikha Ghalia Al Thani, said that workshop aims to provide hotlines’ supervisors and operators with knowledge and skills to develop procedures and systems to improve hotline operations and skills of staff to answer calls.
The training will focus on human trafficking and human rights issues through hotlines, she said, adding that the workshop will also cover key areas via hotline operations, including recruitment of hotline staff to work 24 hours. QNA
