TOKYO: Tokyo stocks closed 0.50 percent higher in quiet regional trade on Friday while the euro enjoyed a pick-up as concerns over Cyprus eased after the island's bank's reopened to relative calm.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 61.95 points to 12,397.91, while the Topix index of all first-section shares dipped 0.20 percent, or 2.07 points, at 1,034.71. (AFP)
