'Festival of Kerala' at Lulu Barwa city from today

Lulu outlets are all set to welcome the much-awaited ‘Festival of Kerala’ as part of the ongoing Qatar International Food Festival and Lulu World Food Expo 2017. The Festival will be inaugurated by Dr R Seetharaman, Group Chief Executive Officer, Doha Bank today at 7pm at Lulu Hypermarket, Barwa City.
There will be huge collection of authentic Kerala street food.  According to Lulu Management, more than 500 varieties of delicious Kerala foods and food products, out of which 100 varieties of delicious recipe foods viz. irachi puttu, kappa biriyani, thattu dosa, crab curry, squid curry and kuttanadan duck roast will be available at modest prices.
Special attention has been given to include ethnic foods from all districts of Kerala and counters are decorated to create an authentic ambience of the festival.  Apart from the dishes, special snacks viz. elayada, achappam, uzhunnuvada, parippu vada, kozhukatta and mulaku vada will also be available. .
This is the 16th year that Lulu Hypermarket is consecutively conducting the food festival. The objective is to make the festival a major event with the active participation of customers and a lot of attractions to create a full festive mood throughout the period.  Some of the activities planned in the food categories are aimed at educating customers about different food habits, and give them insights into various cooking styles and ingredients of different cuisines.  Eminent Chef Anil Kumar, Channel fame and Culinary Director of Food Wise, Dubai will be visiting Lulu Hypermarkets on March 31 and will conduct live cooking sessions with customers.  
The event is envisaged to introduce new concepts of promotion based on themes to create a festival mood throughout the period, with the participation of customers. The festival is aimed at educating customers about different food habits and cooking styles prevailing internationally. Major attractions that would constitute the soul of the festival are: Rice N’ Spice Festival, Salad Fest, Cheese Fest and Meat & Fish Fest.
Fun-filled competitions are organised for entertainment of customers like juice drinking, banana eating, ice-cream eating, grilled chicken eating, biriyani eating, Chilly eating, and Sandwich and burger eating etc.
A cookery contest will take place on the April 7, at Lulu Hypermarket, Barwa City, during which   innovative and informative activities like fruit carving competition, painting and drawing competition for the kids etc. have been organised.  Kerala Fashion Show and Mohiniyattam for the kids also have been organised on March 31 at Lulu Hypermarket, Barwa City.
Customers will also have the chance to win amazing prizes by participating in all the above promotions. Besides, live demonstration sessions on different varieties of cooking have been planned for the information of the customers.  
Special counters and kiosks for promoting exciting offers on major food items, free sampling and tasting, and Raffle draws by Lulu and major suppliers etc. are also set up for the benefit of the customers.  
The festival would focus on almost all areas viz. grocery, frozen foods, bakery, delicatessen, meat, fish, vegetables and domestic appliances etc. and attractive promotions have been organised to benefit the customers in terms of price and quality.  
It was indicated that special promotions on meat, poultry, seafood, salads, Rice N’ Spice and ethnic foods from countries like South Africa, Singapore, Lebanon, Egypt, USA, Brazil, UK, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand would constitute the soul of the promotion.
In line with the Lulu Food Festival, various branded food suppliers namely Nestle, Mars, Eastern, Rainbow, Daawat Rice, Kiri Cheese, Alyoum Chicken and Craft Cheese etc. have launched attractive promotions of their products at highly subsidised prices.
The event will culminate with Cookery Contest on April 7.
