Doha: The Department of Malayalam in MES Indian School released Sahitham- a magazine in Malayalam on March 21.
Hameeda Kadar, the Principal released the magazine amidst the cheers of staff and students. In her speech, the Principal appreciated the efforts of the Department of Malayalam led by Bijily Mohanakumar, the coordinator and student editors in releasing the magazine in Malayalam, which expressed the creative and artistic attributes of the students.
She further, stressed the importance of students being fluent in spoken and written communication in one’s mother tongue.
The Cultural programme followed the magazine release, which included a dance performed by Meenakshi Subin, a poem recitation by Gauri Priya and Gautham Jinesh, ‘maappilappattu’ by Muhammad Hasbin, and a folk song by Gauri Priya and her team. Lekshmi Suresh Kumar welcomed the gathering while Ashkar Muhammed V N proposed a vote of thanks. Bijily Mohanakumar, Coordinator, Department of Malayalam with her team of teachers coordinated the event.
