DOHA: Ezdan Holding Group, one of Qatar’s leading real estate companies, yesterday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Carnegie Mellon University-Qatar (CMU-Q) for partnership and cooperation in the fields of educational research, strategic studies and scholarships.
The MoU was signed by Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of Ezdan Holding Group, and Dr Ilker Babirs, Dean and CEO of CMU-Q, in the presence of Fadel Annan, Assistant Dean of CMU-Q, and Nasr Al Abdulla, Deputy CEO of Ezdan Holding.
The agreement aims at exchanging scholars and researchers in the fields of business management, information systems, executive education, national capacity-building, and in conducting educational conferences, and community development.
The partnership comes within the framework of Ezdan Group’s interest in sharing the responsibility for human and social development in the country.
“Ezdan Group understands its responsibility towards the Qatari community, and always seeks to have partnerships with institutions of educational excellence, economic and social activities for the benefit of the society,” said a press statement.
The Group plays an active role in building the community and in the development that is taking place in the country at all levels, especially since the group has presence in many fields including health, finance, real estate and media, thus helping its efforts for the advancement of all sectors.
Sheikh Khalid stressed the strategic importance of the education sector, which is the basic element for human development, and the achievement of the Qatar National Vision 2030, developed under the wise guidance and leadership of H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir, and the Heir Apparent. He said that the MoU marks the beginning of a strategic relationship, and will contribute to human development.
The MoU also reflects the strategy of the Group to follow the best practices and global standards, particularly in investing in human resources through sustainable plans that include upgrading the performance of young people, enabling them to come out with innovative solutions to meet the economic and social challenges.
CMU-Q offers educational programs in the information technology, business administration, computer science and information systems.
