Bhavan’s Public School (BhPS) hosted a reception for Akbar Kakkattil, a prominent short-story writer and novelist from Kerala, India at its Wakra campus. In his speech Kakkattil stated the importance of education in mental development which is essential for creative writing. His speech was followed by an interaction between Akbar Kakkattil and the students. Surya of class IX and Albert Joseph of class IX anchored the programme. Aysha of class VIII delivered the welcome address. A P Manikantan, Vice President of BhPS, presided over the meeting. Vice Chairman Abdul Kader presented a memento to Kakkattil. Principal V L Balasubramanian delivered the felicitation speech. Adwaith Manikantan of class VIII delivered the vote of thanks.
