DOHA: Under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Dar Al Sharq will hold the first conference on ‘Protection of Workers Rights in Qatar’ on May 1, to coincide with the International Workers’ Day.
The Minister of Labour and Social Affairs H E Abdullah Saleh Mubarak Al Khulaifi will deliver the opening speech on behalf of the Prime Minister, Al Sharq reported.
Jaber Al Harami, vice chairman for media and publication affairs and editor in chief for Al Sharq said: “The patronage of the prime minister given the conference a boost and shows the importance Qatar is giving for workers’ rights.”
He also said that the conference will be a forum for an open discussion on challenges faced by the business sector and government institutions and how to balance the challenge by protecting workers rights.
The Ministry of Interior will be represented in the conference by Brigadier Nasser Mohammed Al Sayed, director of search hand follow up department and Colonel Abdulla Sakar Al Mohanadi, director of human rights.
