Total Cup, which is Total’s annual sports tournament gathering all the Company’s employees and their families, had begun in January, and was concluded in mid-April after four months of competitions. The tournament combined five competitions, namely Walk & Run and Tug of war competition, Tennis, Bowling, Swimming & Broomball, and Football with special tournaments for children.
For the Total Cup tournament, all the employees and their families were divided into four teams — Navy, Red, Blue and Orange, representing the Company’s logo colours.
At the end of the football competition, an awards ceremony was held to recognize the top players of each competition, where they were given medals. The Blue team who were the overall winners were given the 2014’s championship trophy, the Total Cup.
Guillaume Chalmin, Managing Director of Total E&P Qatar and Group Representative said: “We had a very strong Total Cup tournament this year, with many of our colleagues and their families participating in all the events. It was great to see the diversity - men, women and children of different nationalities, in the sports spirit, encouraging healthy competition between them. All this positive energy mobilised in the Total Cup is a great way to bring about unity and cultural integration. A big congratulation goes to the Blue team for winning the tournament, while also recognizing the efforts put forward by all the other teams.”
