QIIB goes live on Oracle Exadata

DOHA: QIIB, one of the prominent Islamic banks in the Middle East region, has gone live with the Oracle Exadata, the world’s most comprehensive engineered platform that delivers extreme performance for both data warehousing and online transaction processing (OLTP) application databases, Mannai Trading Company announced here.
With this, QIIB stands as the first Islamic bank in Qatar to have accelerated on Oracle’s leading technology, Exadata.
The project is aimed to consolidate all of QIIB’s Oracle database into a private Database Cloud. This would in turn streamline the administrative and deployment processes, maximise visibility and enable better control of information and data leading to improved competence, agility and efficiency of QIIB’s data infrastructure. 
The database upgrade and consolidation solution was designed and implemented by Mannai Trading Company. to achieve high availability at all layers within QIIB’s IT environment.
The upgrade and implementation of Oracle’s comprehensive engineered system was undertaken by Mannai Trading’s Software Division, an Oracle Platinum Partner, and the largest systems integrator firm in Qatar. Mannai has completed the upgrade and implementation successfully and will also provide post implementation maintenance and the support required to run the product. Quan Croxford, QIIB Head of Information Technology, and Binu M R, Vice-President, Mannai Software Division, spoke on the occasion.
