Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Stars League (QSL) yesterday announced that the 2026–2027 season of the top flight will kick off on August 20. The QSL will release the match schedule and venue details at a later date.
Al Sadd defeated Al Shamal 3-2 in the final-day decider on Monday to claim their third consecutive title. Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa finished third and fourth respectively.
Lusail SC, winners of the Second Division League, will make their QSL debut, replacing relegated Umm Salal SC.
Meanwhile, Al Shahania SC will face Al Kharaitiyat SC, the Second Division runners-up, in a playoff to retain their top-flight status.
