Cabinet approves changes in foreign capital law

Doha: The Prime Minister  and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet session at the Emiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud said the Cabinet approved a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 13 of 2000 regulating the investment of non-Qatari capital in economic activities and decided to refer it to the Advisory Council.
It also endorsed a draft Emiri decision transferring the affiliation of the Industrial Security Affairs Department of Qatar Petroleum to the Ministry of Interior under the name ‘General Administration of Industrial Security’.
The meeting also approved  a proposal by the Foreign Ministry for adding a representative of the ministry to National Committee for Fighting Terrorism in the light of the ministry’s participation in coordination meetings of Global Counter Terrorism Forum.
The Cabinet then approved the enforcement of rules of Law No. 24 of 2002 on retirement of and pensions for Qatari employees at BeiN. It  reviewed proposals by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs for amending some legislations related to the Ministry; proposals by the Ministry of Finance on cooperation with Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development; the annual report on Qatar Financial Centre’s activities April 1, 2013 to March 31 this year; and a letter by Financial Information Unit on its annual report for 2013.
The Cabinet approved a draft cooperation agreement in the cultural field between Qatar and Croatia.
