New York: The Fifth High-Level Strategic Dialogue between the State of Qatar and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) was held recently on the margins of the United Nations Third Counter-Terrorism Week (CT Week), in New York.
Vice-Chairman of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee, Ministry of Interior of the State of Qatar, H E Major General Nasser Saeed Al Hajri, head of the delegation of the State of Qatar participating in the CT Week, took part in the dialogue which was also attended by Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York H E Sheikha Alya bint Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Counterterrorism and Mediation in Conflict Resolution H E Dr. Mutlaq bin Majed Al Qahtani along with members of the delegation.
For his part, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, H E Vladimir Voronkov, thanked the State of Qatar for its vital support and cooperation in all areas of the mandate of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism.
Furthermore, The UNOCT stressed the importance of partnership with the State of Qatar, which resulted in many projects, the most important of which are the two programme offices, namely the Doha-based “International Center for Behavioral Visions to Combat Terrorism,” and “Office of Parliamentary Participation”.
In the meantime, the delegation of Qatar welcomed the close cooperation between Qatar and the UNOCT.
