Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to Peru’s President  Ollanta Humala on his country’s Independence Day. The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable.

Diabetes at schools surveyed 

Doha: The Executive Director of Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) at Qatar Foundation, Dr Abdullah Al Hamaq, has said that the association has prepared a four-year study on the seriousness of diabetes at schools to find out who are susceptible to the disease. In a press yesterday, he said that the work was underway to map out an annual plan to support diabetics and educate them on how to immune themselves against the disease and the plan will be approved and launched soon. He said the hotline had received a large number of inquiries about diabetes and how to overcome the problems patients face during Ramadan.
