LONDON: Exports of Iraq's main crude oil grade Basra Light will fall in August to 2.085 million barrels per day, down from an initial July programme, a preliminary programme showed on Monday.

Additional cargoes could be added later. The July programme was originally pencilled at 2.178 million bpd.

Iraq's total oil exports have been on the decline this year due to growing unrest.

According to oil shipping figures tracked by Reuters, exports have fallen in July to just 2.27 million barrels a day, a fifth below the government's target of 2.9 million bpd this year. (Reuters)
