Qatar, Turkey in talks to develop gas receiving station

DOHA: Turkey is in talks with Qatar to develop a ‘gas receiving station’ in Turkey. The facility is aimed to receive gas imported from Qatar, Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci has said.
Talking to Al Sharq daily, the minister said the bilateral trade value between the two countries has increased manifolds over the past few years. The bilateral trade value reached $770m in 2013, from $24m in 2003. “We are looking forward to increase this value. We have set a target to increase the value to $1.5bn in the coming few years”, Nihat said.
The Turkish Minister noted that the companies from his country are involved in the development projects worth an estimated $13.5bn in Qatar. Across the world, Turkish companies are involved in projects worth a total of $280bn.
Qatar’s investment in Turkey has already reached $740m. Turkey is looking for to attract more Qatari investments in the coming years, Nihat said.
