Qatar, Kuwait FMs discuss regional developments, diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions

Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a phone call with Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah on Wednesday.

During the call, the two ministers reviewed the close cooperation relations between the two countries and discussed ways to support and further enhance them.

They also reviewed the latest regional developments, particularly the diplomatic efforts being exerted and the joint coordination aimed at de-escalating tensions and promoting security and stability in the region.

During the call, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of all parties adhering to dialogue and diplomacy, and implementing what has been agreed upon under the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, in order to preserve regional security, safeguard the gains achieved, and strengthen regional stability.

HE Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.
