QNA

Washington, USA: US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces had redirected 82 commercial vessels, disabled three others and boarded two to ensure compliance with the US blockade on Iran, as of August 28.

In a post on X, CENTCOM said the operations were part of efforts to enforce the blockade on vessels entering or departing Iranian ports.

CENTCOM had said Thursday that it was allowing vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports to proceed for humanitarian purposes only, stressing that no vessel would be permitted to enter or leave an Iranian port without US authorization.
