Doha, Qatar: Qatar University (QU) signs a cooperation agreement with Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services to enhance student support and strengthen collaboration in training, community engagement, and volunteer initiatives.
The agreement was signed by Vice President for Student Affairs at QU, Dr. Mohammad Diab, and CEO of the Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services, Dr. Ayed bin Dabsan Al-Qahtani, in the presence of officials from both parties.
The agreement establishes an institutional framework for cooperation in providing financial assistance to QU students, implementing community service and awareness programmes, and organising conferences, workshops, and training courses aimed at developing skills and building capacity.
Commenting on the agreement, Vice President for Student Affairs at QU, Dr. Mohammad Diab, said, “This agreement reflects QU’s commitment to strengthening student support, developing students’ skills, and expanding opportunities for their active participation in community service, while fostering a stronger sense of social responsibility.”
For his part, CEO of the Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services, Dr. Ayed bin Dabsan Al-Qahtani, said, “This agreement reaffirms Thani Humanitarian Foundation’s commitment to supporting our students and enhancing their educational and community engagement opportunities. It also reflects our strong belief in the importance of partnership and cooperation among national institutions in this field, helping students continue their educational journey and further develop their capabilities.”
Dr. Ayed Al-Qahtani added, “Through our cooperation with Qatar University, we are keen to expand the scope of our joint efforts to include providing financial support services to students, implementing training, capacity-building and awareness programmes, and promoting a culture of volunteerism and community service.”
He continued, “We believe that integration and collaboration among educational, humanitarian and community institutions contribute to creating sustainable impact and pave the way for further initiatives that serve students and strengthen their engagement in society. We look forward to this agreement providing an effective framework for advancing cooperation between the Foundation and Qatar University, particularly as the national university represents the largest community of higher education students in Qatar. This encourages us to further our efforts and contributions toward providing our students with an outstanding educational environment.”
