DOHA: The Ministry of Environment has indefinitely shelved plans to ban air conditioners that do not meet Qatari standards on energy conservation. The Ministry said yesterday that the decision has been put on hold for an “indefinite period” following requests by an international company for more time to manufacture sufficient quantities of air conditioners meeting the Qatari standards.
