DOHA: Ooredoo yesterday launched Machine to Machine (M2M) services that enable businesses to use the bigger and faster Ooredoo network to better connect all of their different systems and devices and to automate daily tasks.
The M2M service enables companies to connect business assets so that they communicate directly with each other or with a central command centre, removing the need for human involvement. This process supports automation across a range of industries, delivers greater efficiency and has a range of applications in logistics, ‘Smart Cities’, ‘Smart Stadia’, health, and other sectors.
Ooredoo is already working with a number of leading enterprises in Qatar to support M2M services, offering a range of bespoke solutions to enable fleet management, remote monitoring and full automation.
M2M services are an integral part of the so-called “Internet of Things,” (IoT) which interconnects identifiable embedded devices within the existing Internet infrastructure, delivering advanced connectivity of devices, systems, and services.
To enable companies to embrace these important new trends, Ooredoo is introducing enhanced Ooredoo IoT and M2M services that will offer flexible pricing options and enable companies to develop bespoke solutions, ranging from the very simple to the highly advanced.
As part of the service, Ooredoo will offer a variety of data bundles ranging from 100 MB to 50 GB to support M2M, and enable data sharing, so that companies can distribute the data allowance across as many SIM cards embedded in different machines as they need.
