Nabeel Abdul Salam, a Class 10 student of Ideal Indian School won the Gold Medal in the first Qatar National Music Competition in the Arabic Vocal -Solo category held at Katara Drama Theatre recently.
Organised by The Moving Young Artists (MYA) in association with Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science and Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, the competition is the Qatar’s largest musical contest to find the young musician in the national level.
Nabeel is the only Indian student who competed with other Arab nationals presenting Arab classical and traditional songs in the finals to achieve honour.
He Heung Kyeong Park, Korean Ambassador to Qatar presented the Memento, Medal Certificate and Cash Award of QR1,000 to Nabeel in the felicitation ceremony held at Katara Drama Theatre.
Dr Hassan Kunhi M P, School President and Syed Shoukath Ali, School Principal, congratulated Nabeel on his remarkable achievement.
