Cairo: Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) participated yesterday in a seminar held at the headquarters of the Arab League Secretariat General in Cairo, on the role of media and television and radio programmes in addressing issues related to terrorism and national security.
Speaking at the seminar, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector of the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi affirmed that the Arab League is firmly convinced that the media, with all its components, is an essential factor in confronting the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism.
Khattabi pointed out that the preparation of radio and television programmes remains at the core of the media tools that influence the public opinion, stressing the need for good academic training, and honing the capabilities and skills of those who prepare these programmes.
The three-day seminar is held to refine skills and capabilities in the field of radio and television in order to contribute to efforts to fight terrorism and extremism.
