DOHA: The photography competition organised on the sidelines of the fourth Katara Traditional Dhow Festival saw 1,695 entries from 306 participants.
The judging committee has chosen five winners whose names will be revealed at an awards ceremony tomorrow.
The participants were allowed to submit up to six high-quality photos.
The awards ceremony in Katara Building 15 will also honour the winners of the painting contest in which 23 works by artists of various nationalities are taking part.
Among the artists who participated in the painting competition was Qatari Abdulrahman Al Mutawa.
His acrylic painting depicts hardships of pearl divers as they prepare to venture into the sea.
