Members of Doha Chapter of ICAI enjoying activities organised to celebrate Qatar National Day.
The Doha Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) hosted a stand-up comedy act and musical event for its members and their families on the eve of Qatar National Day at Hotel Holiday Inn.
Chapter Chairperson, CA Rukkaiya Pachisa, opened the event, congratulating members on Qatar National Day illustrating with various examples Qatar’s solidarity and economic viability.
She shared information regarding the five-day Blockchain certificate course being conducted by DCICAI in association with ICAI, also informing that ICAI India will be the host organisation of the 21st World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) to be held in Mumbai in November 2022.
The evening was kicked off by a stand-up comedian, a noted and renowned artist Harsh Gujral from India. Harsh entertained the audience in an hour-long performance with his humorous real-life anecdotes.
This was followed by the musical event by a local troupe led by Imtiaz Hussain. The troupe included young talents from different schools in Doha. The students displayed their singing talent, which was highly appreciated by all those present.
Ahir Bhowmick, the renowned emerging singer entertained with a mix duet of Arabic-English songs which got all the attendees on the floor. Later the members along with their families themselves displayed their unique singing talent and contributed towards the show.
The vote of thanks was offered by Chapter Vice-Chairman CA Sandeep Chowdhary, who expressed gratitude to the sponsors, members, executive committee team, volunteers and all those who achieved in making this event a grand success.
Attendees, including family members, were highly appreciative of the Chapter for organising a family event of such magnitude.
The Doha Chapter of ICAI is established in the year 1981 and is the oldest among the 33 overseas chapters of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India.
The current membership of the Chapter is approximately 300, who hold key positions in private and public sector establishments in Qatar and are actively involved in support and development of accounting profession in Qatar. T
he Chapter is actively involved in enhancing and updating the professional knowledge of its members, local professionals and non-members. Doha Chapter of ICAI is the first professional membership body to be registered with Qatar Financial Centre.
