Doha: Bihar Social Forum (BSF), an organisation of Indian expatriates hailing from India’s Bihar province, has held its annual meet and greet programme to celebrate the grand success of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the upcoming new year, and to introduce its new management committee for 2023 session at Kanjani Hall, IICC Building, in Al Thumama.

An associate organisation (AO) of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) under the aegis of the Embassy of India in Qatar, the BSF was founded by Irfan Ansari and Imtiyaz Ahmad three years ago with an aim to provide help and support to Bihar community members in need under the guidance and support of Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) and the Indian Embassy in Qatar.

ICBF Acting President Vinod Nair and ICBF General Secretary Sabith Sahir graced the event as chief guests on the occasion.

BSF Founder Irfan Ansari congratulated Qatar for successfully hosting FIFA World Cup. “It was the best ever World Cup in the history of FIFA,” he said. He took the occasion to introduce Satyendra Pathak, a senior journalist with a Doha-based English newspaper, as the president of the BSF management committee for the 2023 session.

Members of BSF’s new management committee are Irfan Ansari, Satyendra Pathak, Imam Hussain, Sadab Hussain, Aftab Alam Siddique, Abdul Rahman, Mohammad Dilnawaz Ali, Parwez Ali Saifi, Saddam Ansari, Mohammad Musharraf Khan, Mohammad Azharuddin, Arvind Yadav, Mazrul Haque, Mohammad Azmayeen, Zulfikar Ali, Rizwan Ahmad, Dharmendra Kumar and Mohammad Jishan Ali.

Ansari also introduced BSF membership for Bihar community members and urged all the participants to strengthen the organisation with their valuable contributions.

Speaking on the occasion ICBF Acting President Vinod Nair praised BSF for various activities to support the members of the Bihar community in need. “I am quite impressed by the activities of BSF and this is the reason for the organisation’s phenomenal growth in the last three years,” he said.

Nair especially hailed Irfan Ansari for working tirelessly to help and support Indian community members in need. Sabith Sahir congratulated the BSF founder and management committee members for selecting Satyendra Pathak as the new president of the organisation. He wished BSF all the success under the new management committee.

Addressing BSF members on the occasion Pathak said, “Our prime and foremost priority will always remain to help and support Bihar community members, especially the large number of workers engaged with various development projects in Qatar. Besides, we will also aim to reach out to families from Bihar so that they have a platform to celebrate their art, culture, festivals, and traditional functions together.”

A number of entertainment activities like dance, drama, singing by kids, and games for ladies and gents were also organised on the occasion. All the participants and winners of the games were presented with gifts.
