DOHA: Ooredoo yesterday announced the launch of its new Smart Solution –Out of Country Disaster Recovery (DR) — for enterprises and other major companies as part of its ongoing plans to enhance data security for all businesses across Qatar, said a press statement.
The DR service provides businesses with total peace of mind, linking their data centres with managed hosting and co-location support to three global sites in East Asia (Singapore), Europe (London), and America (Santa Clara). By providing companies with an instant link to top tier data centres around the world, the service means that companies can be sure they will always have access to their systems and the capacity to recover all data – even if their own data centre is damaged by fire, flood or natural disaster.
Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, Chief Business Officer, Ooredoo, said: “Today, we launch a genuinely world-class solution which enables companies to link with three data centres around the world and fully secure their companies.”
He said: “We at Ooredoo are determined to secure our customers’ assets and provide them with access to the latest and most innovative services – and today’s launch is a sure sign for our customers that we are truly striving to offer the latest and the best.”
A comprehensive DR solution is becoming mandatory for companies as part of compliance and data protection regulations in Qatar and around the world, as companies guarantee to protect and recover any lost data, whether fire, flooding or man-made crisis to their customers.
The new smart solution, which is bolstered by global connectivity options including MPLS, Global Dedicated Ethernet and Internet VPN services, means that businesses can protect their primary data in the event of an emergency, including natural disasters, cyber-attacks and total system failures.
This new solution will also provide exceptional support for fixed, mobile and Internet users, and enables instant data replication across international borders.
Through this service, Ooredoo is delivering the most up-to-date cyber security solutions to Qatar. The solution offers comprehensive protection for customers’ data at globally recognised and Tier-III+ Data Centres, which all have the full ISO, SAS70 and ITIL certifications.
