Doha: In preparation for the ninth edition of the Senyar Festival, the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara announced the start of registration for the event which will continue until April 13.
The registration is for the fishing and mandrake competitions. The festival will run from May 2 to 5 and prizes will be allocated to the first 15 positions.
One of the conditions for registration is that the loader must be made of wood (traditional or advanced), suitable for sailing, meet safety conditions and navigation devices, and be licensed by government agencies. Each team should consist of 8 to 12 people, and all participants must be of Qatari nationality, and it is allowed to register two persons from the GCC countries and two persons can be residents.
The priority of choosing the name of the team will be the priority of registration, with the necessity of submitting a certificate from the medical examination for all team members. In case of any inquiries, you can call 44081011.
As for the method of calculating the weight of the catches, it will be for the fish listed according to the types and weights, for example: grouper fish whose length is not less than 40cm, the weight will be calculated as 10kg, even if its weight is less than 10kg. And each type of fish has a specific number of catches.
For the Shaari fish, which is included in the second group, each team has the right to catch 100 fish of all kinds (Shaari, Soli, Bakhchin, Yamah). All of these species are considered Shaari, provided that the length of the fish is not less than 22cm. The committee will take the actual weight in kilograms of the Shaari fish caught.
On the calculation of the final result, the weight of the catch for fish from the first group is calculated according to the previously mentioned mechanism, and the actual weight of the catch from the second group (Shaari fish) is added to it. The result is approved and the winners are arranged according to the highest weight caught.
