Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf (endowments) and Islamic Affairs has opened three new mosques that accommodate up to 1,521 worshippers in Azizia, Khor and Mreikh as part of its plan to double the number of mosques in all regions of the country according to specific criteria and architectural heritage and environment in the light of the Qatar National Vision 2030 .
The capacity of the mosque in Al Azizya is 1,145 (850 in the main hall , 185 in the daily hall and 110 in the women’s hall).
The mosque in Al khor accommodates 157 male and 49 female worshippers, and an annexe for the house of the Imam and another one for the muezzin.
The mosque in Mreikh accommodates 170 male and 40 female worshippers along with the house of the Imam and the muezzin.
The mosques department confirmed that these mosques have been provided with all facilities. QNA
