DOHA: The Social Development Center (SDC) has been awarded two international standard certifications as a result of its firm commitment to providing the highest level of support and professional services to the Qatari community.
The Center has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System and the SA8000:2008 Social Accountability International for setting the highest standards in management systems and ethical sourcing.
Speaking at a celebration event held at SDC and attended by members of staff and partner organisation, Amal Al Mannai, Director General, said that the certifications are part of the Center’s commitment to the community.
“SDC has put in place the best international standards for management and ethical sourcing because these measures will improve the services that the centre provides to the community. To do so has taken much hard work, and as the first NGO to receive these highly prestigious certifications we would like to lead by example. The certifications are a testament to the hard work that SDC employees put in every day to ensure that the Center continually improves and delivers the high expectations that we have from the people we help to the partners who share our mission. I thank them all for their support”, she added.
The awarding of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, which ensures quality of performance and the running of a management system that delivers to the highest standards, is the first to an NGO in Qatar.
