Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has launched the Regulatory Record Report service, a new digital service that enables consumers and businesses to access general compliance indicators relating to companies. The service supports informed decision-making before entering into contractual agreements, within a legal and regulatory frame-work that safeguards consumer rights and the statutory rights of companies.
The launch forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation and strengthen regulatory oversight, while enhancing transparency and protecting the rights of all stakeholders. By providing an official source of information, the service reduces reli-ance on unofficial sources, strengthens confidence in the business environment, and enables consumers to make more informed decisions when evaluating companies.
The report includes key company information, including the company name, licence number, business activity, and licence status. It also provides a number of compliance indicators, including the number of complaints and violations, instances of administrative closure, complaint classifications, and response rates.
The service provides two mechanisms for obtaining the report. Under the first, companies provide prior consent to the disclosure of their information, with such consent documented and archived in accordance with the approved procedures. Under the second mechanism, the company’s consent is requested when the report request is submitted. In this case, the report is made available to the consumer only after the company has been notified and its approval has been obtained.
Beneficiaries may request the report through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s website by accessing Digital Platform Services, logging in through the Tawtheeq system, selecting Services, navigating to Inquiries, and selecting Compliance Record Report.
The service is expected to enhance transparency and strengthen confidence in commercial transactions by providing compliance indicators that enable consumers to evaluate companies more effectively before making contracting decisions.
