Traffic diversion at Al Ebb Roundabout and Traffic diversion on Al Shamal Road
DOHA: The Public Works Authority — Ashghal — has announced a temporary road closure on Al Ebb Street in Daain from yesterday as part of work on a new traffic light at Al Ebb Roundabout.
The road to Al Ebb Roundabout from Al Kharaitiyat Interchange will be fully closed - from the intersection at Qutaifan Street to Al Ebb Roundabout - to finalise asphalt paving on the intersection. The road will remain closed until September 15. During this period, vehicles going towards Al Ebb Roundabout will be diverted at Al Ebb Street to minimise traffic disruption.
Vehicles going from Al Ebb roundabout towards Al Kharitiyat Interchange will be required to take a diversion at Duhail Street or access the area via Al Kheesa road. The project includes upgrading and construction of roads, parking areas, walkways and traffic lights.
Meanwhile, Ashghal yesterday opened a new traffic diversion on Al Shamal Road, in front of Taiba petrol station. The diversion will in operation until the fourth quarter of 2014.
This new diversion will help ease traffic heading from the north towards Doha, while construction work takes place on the Izghawa flyover, which is a part of the North Road Enhancement project.
Al Shamal Road will connect the northern parts of the country, and will provide a 95.2km bicycle path along the length of the road. The Peninsula
