DOHA: Over 2,500 workers have been educated about preventing infectious diseases by the ‘Weqaya’ campaign conducted by Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) and the Supreme Council of Health (SCH).
A series of activities were held in the Industrial Area to raise awareness among workers and employees.
More than 500 workers were given information on infectious diseases and how to prevent themselves from being infected. Bags were distributed among the workers with a toothbrush, tooth paste, soap, and other utensils to help workers care for their personal hygiene.
Educational lectures were also held at health centres for workers in the Industrial Area. Two such sessions were conducted for more than 2,000 workers.
The first phase of the campaign aims to raise awareness of about 10,000 workers in the new industrial zone in health centres operated by QRC and the Medical Commission units that will be operated by QRC in the future.
QRC together with the SCH and Hamad Medical Corporation is preparing to hold rehabilitation workshops for doctors and nurses and representatives of companies on the prevention of infectious diseases. The Peninsula
