DOHA: Commercialbank has launched the Future Leaders Programme to prepare its most brilliant employees for a future in leadership positions, just two weeks after launching their Graduate Development Programme, in association with Doves Nest Group in the United Kingdom.
A total of 35 students have completed the first of the seven modules of the Future Leaders Programme, the last of which will take place in London. Classes for the first module of the Programme were held at the Commercialbank building on the Salwa road. The bank is building a state-of-the-art facility at Wakra that will house 150 students lectures.
The Group Chief Executive Officer Andy Anderson told The Peninsula that Commercialbank is “committed to its people’s talent and with the changes in Qatar in the past years we realised that we have to revisit and refresh are own development programmes”.
The Future Leaders Programme is run by the Judge Business School of the University of Cambridge, which is ranked the world’s number one university. The programme will give insights into key management disciplines and provide students with tools and knowledge to become future leaders of the Bank.
The students who finish the seven modules of the programme can become in leadership positions within a five year horizon. Six of the modules are in Doha with visiting professors of Cambridge University that teach various subjects, from economics to philosophy, drama or literature. The final module will be in Cambridge University.
During the launch of the Future Leaders Programme, Andy Anderson added that “it is significant that the British Ambassador is here today, as both our Accelerated Leadership Programme and our Future Leadership Programme involve two world-class British universities, London Business School and the University of Cambridge”. He insisted that Commercial Bank is “committed to offering the best talent development in Qatar”.
