Kabul: At least 25 insurgents were killed in an airstrike conducted in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Sunday.
According to MoD, the airstrike was carried out in Sherzad district of Nangarhar, targeting a group of the Taliban insurgents.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.
Nangarhar is among the relatively peaceful provinces in eastern Afghanistan but the anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents and loyalists of the (ISIS) group are actively operating in a number of its districts.
