Doha: The Seventh Winter Camp of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) under the theme ‘El Inah’ opened with a series of activities at Sealine, near government services complex yesterday.
This year, QOC has included multiple activities, events and programmes in its weekly schedules to suit all age groups.
Officials in charge of the camp said some weeks are allocated for domestic sport federations to stage activities to promote sports by involving the general public.
Media and cultural symposiums, contests, and football and volleyball tournaments are among the activities.
Faisal Saleh Al Mansouri, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at QOC, said ‘El Inah’ is an ideal environment for all age groups as a wide range of events, activities and programmes have been lined up for all.
Cultural and social programmes along with sport activities and tournaments aim at meeting family needs and providing entertainment games for kids, he said.
The football and volleyball tournaments will offer QR90,000 in prize money. The camp also features electronic games, Brazilian tournament, golden throw contest, photographing and drawing contests, telematch games, table tennis and Islamic Triathlon Tournament. QNA
