Saudi Arabia records decrease in the rate HIV infection in 2012

RIYADH: Rates of HIV infection 'AIDS' in Saudi Arabia in 2012 decreased by 6.1 percent.  

Last year, 1233 new cases infected with the virus were discovered including 431 Saudis and 802 non-Saudis, said in a report issued by the Ministry of Health carried by Saudi Press Agency (SPA), on the occasion of World AIDS Day which is held on the first of December of each year.
    
The report said that the cumulative number of all cases of the disease discovered in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of 1984 until the end of 2012 amounted to 18762 cases including 5348 Saudis and 13414 non-Saudis. (QNA)
