DOHA: Qatari government — in the run-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and in accordance with the Qatar National Vision 2030 — intends to spend about QR255bn (over $70bn) on infrastructure and transport as well as hotels and stadiums, according to Deloitte, a management consultancy.
Another sports event has been recently added to the calendar of Qatar, as the country was granted the right to host the 17th IAAF World Championships, which will unfold in 2019, boosting the construction sector further.
In fact, the Minister of Finance allocated $24bn (about QR87.4bn) to key projects, which represents a 16 percent increase, compared to 2013-14, and translates into Qatar’s largest infrastructure budget to date. Those operating in such a dynamic market must be equally versatile; in this regard, Project Qatar 2015 will foster the rapid development of Qatar’s booming construction sector, being among the best attended exhibitions in the GCC for over a decade.
The 12th International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition is set to take place at the Qatar National Convention Centre, from May 4 to 7, 2015. The show is proud to have been granted for the second consecutive time the patronage of the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, as well as the continuous and invaluable support of various Qatari governmental bodies.
To date, the show has received high number of enquiries from exhibitors, six months prior to the opening, which is a testament to Qatar’s construction growth and to Project Qatar’s widening portfolio and sustainability.

Moreover, Project Qatar 2015 will be held concurrently with two specialized events: Qatar StoneTech, the 4th International Stone and Stone Technology show, and Heavy Max, the 12th International Exhibition for Heavy Machinery.
