Doha: Sudan’s Information minister Dr Ahmed Bilal has praised the relations between Qatar and Sudan, describing them as strong, long-standing and well-developed ties.
In a press statement to Al Arab newspaper, Dr Bilal said that the people of Sudan appreciated Qatar for its continuous support during difficult times and in the international forums. “The people of Sudan owe a debt of gratitude to the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the government and people of Qatar for the support extended to Sudan in all conditions and in all fields.”
He said that Qatar’s position towards Arab issues is clear and explicit and it supports all Arab peoples not only Sudan, pointing out that Qatar’s policy is always in support of the Arabs and their rights, particularly the Palestinian question.
Regarding Qatari investment in Sudan, the Sudanese information minister said that these investments are one of the Qatari tools to help Sudanese people in many areas not only economic field. “We are proud of this privileged relations with Qatar and we hope that it will progress towards greater prosperity.”
