AACE opens branch in Qatar

DOHA: AACE International, a non-profit association serving cost management community, launched its Qatar Section on November 26. 
The event, organised at Ezdan Hotel and Suites, was attended by more than 150 professionals from construction industries in Qatar. 
Dr. R Seetharaman, Chief Executive Officer of Doha Bank was keynote speaker, AACE International global president Julie Owen as chief guest while Ahmed Jassim Al Jolo, Chairman of Qatar Society of Engineers was guest of honor in the event.
AACE International provides their members and stakeholders with the resources they need to enhance their performance and ensure continued growth and success. 
With over 10,000 members in more than 100 countries worldwide AACE International serves total cost management professionals in a variety of disciplines and across all industries. 
Dr Seetharaman in his speech gave overview and future trends in the regional construction industry.
Julie Owen made technical presentation on how to implement Programme Management Office (PMO) for project success. Later, she inaugurated the Qatar section by cutting the ribbon. 
Mohammed Rafiuddin, regional director of the Qatar Section introduced team of officers for Qatar section.
The team consists of nine officers, Dev Tamboli – President, Haresh Jayanth – Vice President, Ryan Ace Tan – Secretary, Manoj Joshi – Treasurer, Avinash Gaikwad – Director Membership, Sitansh Desai – Director technical, Amit Ranade – Director Events, Mohamad Daaboul – Director Marketing & Publicity and MI Mohammed Nizar – Director Administration.
Dev Tamboli, President of AACE International Qatar Section, assured its members of the various activities to be conducted by AACE International Qatar Section in the field of project management, Cost Engineering and Planning. It will include, training for professionals, technical meetings, social events and conferences. He appealed all the professionals to come forward and support AACE International Qatar Section to serve the project controls fraternity in Qatar.
