Al Gharafa game crucial for us, says Al Rayyan chief

Doha: Al Rayyan’s Head of Football Ali Salem Afifa (pictured) has expressed his delight over his team’s fine start after a resounding victory over El Jaish on Friday. 
 While speaking to QSL Online he said Al Rayyan are progressing well in the Qatar Stars League, and he has faith and confidence in all of their players.
Al Rayyan continued their winning streak after defeating El Jaish 2-1 during round 10 of the Qatar Stars League and are now seven points clear at the top of the table.
“I am not worried or concerned about the team. We are putting in good performances in each and every game we play,” said the Lions’ football chief.
“I would like to thank the players. Also I would like to congratulate the technical staff on this recent win” said Afifa. 
He also stressed that the league title had not been decided with their latest victory over El Jaish. He said: 
“We have played 10 rounds with 16 left which equal 48 points,” he said.
“But in the meantime it is our aim to win the league title and I am optimistic that the team will continue on the same manner.”
Commenting on the new record by Al Rayyan in winning 10 consecutive games, he said: “That achievement was accomplished due to the hard work and efforts exerted by everyone involved from the players, the technical staff, officials and the fans.”
Regarding the upcoming game against Al Gharafa in Round 11, he said: “We enter each and every game with only one aim is to win as I consider that Al Gharafa game is very crucial for us.”
Afifa also had plenty of praise for the Al Rayyan fans who have been instrumental to the sides impressive start this season.
 “This is not strange to Al Rayyan fans and we are delighted to make them happy.”
