Norwich, United Kingdom: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger's injury problems worsened on Sunday when key player Alexis Sanchez limped off during the second half of his side's Premier League game at Norwich City.
Sanchez, who had earlier set up a goal for Mesut Ozil, clutched the back of his right thigh after hurdling a challenge by Ryan Bennett on the hour and immediately hobbled off, a grimace on his face, with Joel Campbell coming on.
Wenger had decided to field Sanchez despite the Chile forward having complained of a tight hamstring following Arsenal's 3-0 Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, in which he scored twice.
Sanchez scored 25 goals for Arsenal last season -- his first at the club after signing from Barcelona -- and his absence would be keenly felt, particularly as Wenger already has several players unavailable.
Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned from hamstring injuries at Carrow Road, but Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott, Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck, and Tomas Rosicky are all currently sidelined.
