The Qatar National Rugby Sevens Team left for United Arab Emirates to take part in the Emirates Dubai 7's rugby tournament yesterday.
The Camels will compete in the Men’s Open International Division - the third toughest category in Pool D.
The prestigious Dubai 7's is an annual rugby union sevens tournament and will host the first leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series. Over the past 40 years the Dubai Sevens has gained reputation as one of the highlights of the UAE’s sporting calendar.
The Sevens stadiums can host over 40,000 fans per day and crowds of over 100,000 are expected over the course of the tournament. Entertaining the crowds will be the world’s finest international sevens teams including reigning champions Fiji.
The Dubai Sevens isn’t just the World Rugby Series, on the pitches surrounding the stadium, 250 teams from around the world compete in invitational, open, veterans and women’s competitions.
There's also the Rugby Village, where fans can expect to find an array of shops, bars, cafes and children activities.
